You might have noticed the new sculpture section at the front of the site. That's because while many of the things I do often take form in two dimensions, deep in my bones there's a third dimension that wants to make itself known. My floral carpets and some thickly applied paintings express some of that yearning for depth and space.
I use many of the molds I have for baking, believe it or not. Silicon molds lend themselves very well to thick doughs, like shortbread. In the future I'd like to produce some Christmas Yule ornaments for tree decorating. If I can't get access to a kiln, I can always pour plaster with an aggregate like mason sand.
The cookies are really good. Make sure you checkout my poured concrete base trees hung with printed quotations and ribbons too (photos posted in the Molds / Sculpture gallery)!
