Continuous contour drawing is simple, just don't pick up the pencil and marker!
STEP 1 - Choose a subject. Stuffed animals, animal models, trees, faces, people, and geologic features work great. Find a National Geographic for a photograph of an Alaskan mountain. I chose a moose model. I paint these white so we can really see the shadows, highlights and textures!
STEP 2 - Use a pencil on paper, looking back and forth from the subject to the paper. Do not lift the pencil. If you've got shadows, scrawl back and forth. Leave the highlights alone. Get the antlers down. Choose a perspective and lighting you can handle. If you can't comprehend what you're seeing, you probably can't handle it. Challenge yourself, but be realistic.
STEP 3 - Trace your drawing with a marker. Add paint as necessary.
