I started organizing this show back in December with Water Street studio. Initially, my intention was to display and sell Husband and the Trolls -- which you can view here on the website. I decided instead of showcasing the entire book, to open the folktale's story theme to interpretation by multiple artists. I've procured work by two native Icelanders, a possible original cello composition and performance, as well as my illustration student and fellow children's book artist, Carmen Hampson. Possible work from Chinatsu Ikeda and Manuél Carrion.
Husband and the Trolls: Icelandic Folklore
Opening April 12th, 6 to 7pm (tentative, but definitely evening)
Water Street Studio Gallery, upper floor
160 S. Water St. Batavia, IL 60510
Thursday-Sunday 12 to 4pm
Join us for an evening of gravlox, and artwork. AcquaViva wine if I have the studio's permission. All Batavia, Geneva, and Saint Charles residents + welcome. It's a small space, but it's our space to celebrate our artwork, and also move Husband and the Trolls' energy elsewhere.
